Alanna: Hello again, and happy Thursday to all you dedicated readers out there. I'm here today to propose a thesis for our upcoming hellza-big essay.
Here it is:
"Dr Seuss's story 'The Zax' demonstrates the stubbornness and unwillingness to compromise of human beings. This Stubbornness and uncooperativeness can be seen on all levels of human experience."
It's fancy.
It's also a working thesis, so we can change it as we go. What do you think, guys?
Janice: Yessss EXCELLENT *evil cackle* MY PLOT IS COMPLETE
I mean...*ahem* yes, good idea guys.
Alanna: I have new lip balm in my pocket today.
Lesley: Stubbornness, unwillingness, stubbornness,uncooperativeness...I think there might be too much 'ness' going on, but that's just my editing self. The idea's good.
Alanna: We can rephrase it.
Janice: It's a blog, it doesn' have to make sense, let alone be written nicely.
Alanna: I think she was talking about the thesis. The final thesis sort of does have to be written nicely, but it's a semi-formal essay, so not THAT nicely.
Janice: Oh. Then she has a point.
Alanna: I suppose we should do some research today, right?
Lesley: So, we already have some ideas. The OC transpo strike...
Alanna: They voted on that today. I'm pretty sure they voted against the proposed package. DAMNIT. It'll be going on for a while.
Janice: Yeah, they were interviewing some of the drivers this morning on CBC radio. Sounded like the majority wasn't that eager to accept the offer. Although there were a few.
Lesley: They are definitely like the Zax in that sense. The story can also relate to Stephen Harper and the Kyoto accord as we disscussed, so we can possibly look further into that. The Prime Minister does seem to stand his ground when it comes to those certain issues.
Alanna: One- I love the CBC.
Two- AAAAAAAAAAAARH STEPHEN HARPER JUST WANTS TO BE CANADA'S FASCIST DICTATOR. AR. AR. ARRRRRRRRRRRRRRR. I despise that man's prime ministerial rule.
SOCIALISM.
AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAH.
Okay. So. I have leftist views. But even if I was a centrist or mildly right-leaning, I would still possibly despise that man's prime ministerial rule.
We need reform on SO many levels for SO many things. Okay, sorry Janice, it's your turn now.
Janice: Well, I agree Alanna, Stephen Harper isn't my favorite person either, but a lot of the other options don't seem nice and shiny either. MMMMM shiiiinnnnyyyyy. Anyways.
I definetly think that it's time Stephen Harper faced the music, no matter how horrible or out of tune it sounds.
Alanna: Stephen Harper, will you please GO NOW? (Refer to the Marvin K. Mooney blog for more details.)
Also, I propose a societal reform and a dismantlement of government as we know it, in the form of a anarcho-communist society of independent city-states run by the democratic process. True democracy, none of this silly wishy-washy first-past-the-post stuff.
Sorry.
I am passionate about politics.
Lesley: There is also Stephen Harper and Michaelle Jean's decision to prorogue parliament.
Janice: That's what I meant by face the music, he didn't because he prorogued parliament. But he will have too soooooonnnn! Sorry, continue.
Lesley: Anyway, it relates to the Zax story in the sense that they were at a standstill, and let the world go on without them. Stephen Harper prorogued parliament while the citizens of Canada are still going on with their lives.
Alanna: OHBURN. Take that, parliament!
What do you mean, don't say anything radical?
I'm not THAT MUCH of a radical leftist. I have my centrist points. I blindly follow NO political ideology, not even the ones I like best. I feel free to create my own theories to improve and expand upon previous theories, and these theories may or may not fall more towards the center.
Anyways, so earlier, Lesley, you were listing the issues we could research today?
So far we've got the start of the list of things to research today. So I propose finishing the list, and researching them.
Janice: Alright, So. We're going to relate the Zax to different issues on different levels of society, either across the street or across the globe. So.
Personal Level - friend conflicts, teachers, parents perhaps?
Municipal Level - The OC Transpo Strike
Federal Level - Stephen Harper proroguing parliament
Gobal Level - Israel + Palestine conflict, or Gaza.
Alrighty, let's get to work.
Alanna: I wonder if there's galaxerial level.
Probably not.
I suggest posting this now.
Lesley: Before we go on another rant...
Janice: Indeed. Peace out, A TOWN NOW
